Thanks for your interest in Educational Leadership and Technology at Northwestern State University! Whether your career goal is to work in K-12 schools, higher education, or other setting, NSU is the right choice.  Our institutional priority is teaching. That means our priority is you, the student.

We offer up-to-date preparation needed to succeed in the following advanced degrees. All are online except the M.A. in Counseling. About 50% of counseling courses are available online. The other classes are offered on the Natchitoches campus.

Certifications offered in:

  • Educational Leadership--"Alternate Path to Add-on Certification" available to those with a master's degree in any field from a regionally accredited institution. 
  • Educational Technology--Courses in ETEC also lead to state of Louisiana add-on certifications in Computer Literacy, Educational Technology Facilitator, Educational Technology Leader, and Online Instruction. 
  • Adult Education--Select courses lead to state of Louisiana add-on certification in Adult Education Instructor Certification for certified teachers.
