Adult Education

Offered online, the 33-hour Master of Arts degree in Adult Education offers a contemporary, technology-rich program for those preparing to work with adult learners. The program conforms to the guidelines of the Commission of Professors of Adult Education. The degree program offers three concentration areas: continuing education, homeland security, and technology management.

The continuing education concentration prepares graduates to work with adults as training managers and designers, community education directors, or facilitators in informal learning settings, or with undereducated adults in school, community college, or institutional settings.

Homeland Security planners prepare large-scale training and simulation scenarios and deal with security threats in law enforcement or municipal management. For information on the homeland security concentration, contact Mr. Joe Morris at morrisj@nsula.edu or call 318-357-5499.

Those interested in educational computing systems within schools, colleges, or industry may elect the technology management concentration. Also, those with a Louisiana teaching or administrative certification may choose to secure certification as an adult education instructor or GED center supervisor.
For program information on the continuing education or technology management concentrations, contact Dr. Frank Fuller at fullerf@nsula.edu or call 318-357-5862.
Dr. Fuller is the program coordinator for Adult Education.
